The CLC encourages CILEx Members to consider converting to CLC regulation.
CLC Lawyers are regulated by a specialist regulator with rules, support and guidance tailored to conveyancing and probate practice. CLC Lawyers also enjoy the benefits of being an Authorised Person in terms of the Legal Services Act 2007.
Candidates that complete the CLC/SQA Level 4 Diploma and required work experience, can register as a CLC Technician at no extra cost, and be listed on the CLC Technician Directory. After registering as a CLC Technician, furthering your career in law to become an Authorised Person, is a common goal. This can be achieved on the CLC route by completing the CLC/SQA Level 6 Diploma, which compares favourably to the cost of continuing on the CILEx CPQ Professional stage, with a possible saving of up to £5,000.
Candidates that complete the CLC/SQA Level 6 Diploma and required practical experience, can apply to become a CLC Lawyer.
SQA Level 4: Units from £500 to £700. Diploma from £2,000 – £3,000
SQA Level 6: Units from £700 to £900. Diploma from £2,000 – £3,000
