FCILEX lawyers who qualified in conveyancing and/or probate can apply to transfer to CLC regulation. You will need to hold a current, valid and relevant practising certificate(s) free from conditions. Non-Fellows (CILEX) should apply through the CLCs standard route to entry. See here.
As a FCILEX lawyer on becoming either a Licensed Conveyancer and/or Licensed Probate Practitioner, you will enjoy the benefits of being an Authorised Person in terms of the Legal Services Act 2007 and will be regulated by a specialist regulator with rules, support and guidance tailored to conveyancing and probate practice.

A full year individual licence fee is currently £400 and is be calculated on a pro rata basis from month of approval until licence renewal on 01 November 2023.
Please note: The requirement to complete the unit Managing office and Client Accounts (conveyancing or probate) came into force for all FCILEX qualified applicants on 29 February 2024.
