Surrender a Licence

Please notify us if you intend to permanently surrender a licence by emailing licensing@clc-uk.org.

If a CLC lawyer chooses not renew their licence at the end of the licensing year (31st October), their licence will expire and will no longer be valid from that date.

In order to then apply following an expired CLC Licence should you wish to do so in the future you will need to complete and submit a new application.

There are different requirements to applying following an expired CLC Licence which is dependent on the time that has lapsed since your CLC licence has expired, so please ensure you read the information in the link below carefully.

For more information on applying following an expired licence please visit our website here.

Please note if an individual’s licence has expired and they no longer hold a current/valid licence, they must not hold themselves out as a Licensed Conveyancer/Probate Practitioner.
